Hmmm, I will say that this story seemed very generic in its writing style. It followed a typical storyline pattern of romance, conflict, resolution. That's really all there is to say about it. It was nothing extraordinary, but it wasn't necessarily terrible either.
The
whole novel felt a little shallow to me, because I couldn’t connect with the
characters. It feels as though I’ve read a thousand novels with the main
character has some sort of magical power, moves to a new town, and meets a
dark, handsome boy. It’s as though these three characteristics have become a
template for amateur writers, because I’m seeing it everywhere. Hanging by a Thread is no different, and
it does no better with these clichéd elements. As for the writer’s style, I
found it lacking. When she described the protagonist’s visions, I often had to
reread them for clarity. And at the climax of the story, when the murderer
comes home, I felt confused as to what had happened. I didn’t even understand
that that was the murderer until I reread the passage. I shouldn’t have had to
try hard to understand such a simple story, and I found it tiresome to
concentrate that deeply. I grew bored of the story, and I predicted the ending
about halfway through the novel.
