As of now, I am now living in
bright and sunny California. However, I've lived in five states and visited several more. I've traveled across the country, literally, and
it's brought me some unique insights. Along the way, I've met incredibly
diverse people, and I've been exposed to various cultures. That has inspired a
life-long love of language and traveling. I'm dazzled by the beauty of
languages, of grammar and sentence structure. So much so, that I hope to minor
in a foreign language someday. As of now, I've taken 3 1/2 years of Spanish,
and I've begun self-studying Arabic. Idealistically, I would like a basic grasp
of French and Italian as well. This versatility with languages would be
conducive for traveling, and it would open up the possibility of
international careers.
As
for the traveling itself, I am particularly amazed by architecture and how it
differs from nation to nation. Despite (or perhaps because of) the changes, the
grandeur remains constant. Other forms of art are thrilling as well, especially
in countries with deeper histories. Outside of the man-made aspect of things, I
also enjoy natural scenery. I'm particularly fond of tall trees, and I've been
known to photograph those that catch my eye.
Another
passion of mine, perhaps a more obvious one, is writing. While blogging is a
new experience for me (and a rather exciting one at that!), I'm no stranger to
essays. I've entered several essay contests, but I generally write for myself. There are so many ideas swirling around in my head that I like
to jot the better ones down and turn them into short stories. With so much to
write and so little time to do it, it's a perpetual game of catch-up, but I
hardly mind. I'd love to share some of my pieces with you in the future.
